“Plus qu’un jeu de mot, il s’agit de remettre les choses à leur place par un simple changement sémantique. Dissocier le mot “Femme” au mot “Objet”, distinguer deux entités pour les faire dialoguer: “Femme & Objet”.

Retirer un élément (le tiret) et le remplacer par un autre (une conjonction de coordination) pour faire basculer l’intention, parce qu’une femme ne se résume pas à l'objet de désir que suppose l'expression “femme-objet”.

S’éloigner d’un lieu commun trop souvent employé au détriment de l’esprit pour se focaliser sur le rapport que les femmes entretiennent avec les objets qui les entourent au quotidien et non les réduire à un statut inerte et vecteur de désirs.

À travers des portraits de femmes artistes, des réflexions, une sélection d'objets (f)utiles, Femmes & Objets a pour intention de dessiner une cartographie contemporaine de la scène artistique féminine.

Une invitation à se questionner sur des éléments qui construisent notre intimité.

Quel rapport entretenons-nous avec les objets qui nous entourent ? Que révèlent-ils de notre rapport au monde ? Comment circulons nous au milieu de ces éléments ? Pouvons-nous lire en eux ? Nous en inspirer ?

Les objets, disposés dans l'espace, donnent une échelle à un territoire : celui que l’on explore dans notre quotidien.

Femmes & Objets se présente comme un observatoire du processus créatif fidèle au concept de Parties Prises.”

"More than a play on words, it's about putting things in their place by a simple semantic change. To dissociate the word "Woman" from the word "Object", to distinguish two entities to make them dialogue: "Woman & Object".

To remove an element (the hyphen) and replace it by another (a conjunction of coordination) in order to tilt the intention, because a woman is not only the object of desire that the expression "woman-object" implies.

Moving away from a commonplace too often used to the detriment of the mind to focus on the relationship that women have with the objects that surround them in their daily lives, and not reducing them to an inert status that is a vector of desires.

Through portraits of women artists, reflections, and a selection of (f)useful objects, Femmes & Objets intends to draw a contemporary cartography of the female art scene.

An invitation to question ourselves on elements that build our intimacy.

What relationship do we have with the objects that surround us? What do they reveal about our relationship to the world? How do we circulate in the midst of these elements? Can we read in them? Can we be inspired by them?
